Imprints of people…

A Poem

“If I tell them, I still think of them,

They’ll never believe.

So I don’t say it anymore.

But there are imprints of them on my soul…

Each of you, has fueled a part of me.

All of you, that I have met, befriended, liked, loved, left, lost or hurt,

Has made me who I am.

I don’t dwell on feelings. Just emotions.

Have a lot of them.

That’s human nature.

Makes me wonder, if you, think of me too!

Not so often, but may be in a song I once shared or sang.

Or in a memory I have of them!

I do think about them. About you. About us.

I haven’t forgotten how I felt or what I felt.

Because people don’t remember who you are,

But they always remember, how you made them feel.

Always.

So, I hope in all spite, you were happy when I was in your life.

I hope, you learned why we drifted apart after all this time.

Because I have.

I know. I have found out that everything happens for a good reason.

And with us falling apart, there was definitely something good.

If not, then may be I wasn’t good for you.

Or you for me.

So I hope, that whatever we shared was as precious for you, as it was for me.

And I wish that whenever you think of me, you set me free,

From the burden of leaving, hurting, or simply trying too hard to hold on to you!

We were good. For all that we were.

Let’s be better. For all that awaits.”

Thanks for reading. Namaste.
